Consensor Audience Response System

Consensor on display at our AML booth

Consensor is a computerized system by which an audience can respond to questions using hand-held keypads. These devices transmit individual responses back to a computer that instantly tabulates the data, and displays a summary of the results for the audience to review. The name Consensor comes from its ability to help audiences find common ground and reach consensus on issues that might have otherwise been contentious.

Information Insights uses Consensor to help facilitate group decision making, usually in conjunction with Open Space Technology concepts. Consensor can also be used for presentation support, demographic surveys, opinion polls, voting, elections, quizzes and tests, gameshows, and any other event where you want to ask a question and get an instant response from your audience.

Information Insights rents Consensor as a package to help your event go smoothly. Our package includes a technician to run the software and up to 100 hand-held keypads with all the necessary hardware and software. We also input your prepared script before the event and provide a basic report of polling results afterwards. Script development, detailed reporting, and other additional services are also available.

Additional keypads can be rented for larger events.

In any group you have a few individuals who will speak up, and many who won’t. Consensor allows you to find out what everyone is thinking about the issues.

Ellen Ganley presenting at the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce

Information Insights and the Cold Climate Housing Research Center are partnering to conduct a survey of Fairbanks residents on how they plan to cope with high energy costs this winter.

The survey will be conducted in two parts, an initial survey this fall to gather information about how residents are planning to handle the rising cost of energy, and a follow-up survey in the spring to find out how higher energy costs actually impacted residents.

Study Released: Role of Oil and Gas in Alaska’s Economy

June 30th, 2008

The Alaska Oil and Gas Association (AOGA) released a study today on the role of oil and gas in Alaska’s economy. Information Insights and the McDowell Group collaborated on the research, which used 2007 industry data to update a study the two firms published in 2001. The 2008 report expands on the earlier work quantifying the economic role of the oil and gas industry on specific regions within the state including the Municipality of Anchorage, FNSB, KPB, Mat-Su Borough, North Slope Borough, and the Valdez region, and examining direct, indirect and induced economic effects of the industry in these regions and communities. Brian Rogers presented the study findings at the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce’s Monday Forum. An overview of the results appears on the AOGA website.
