Information Insights’ senior consultants have a decade of experience in aspects of conference, summit, and similar large group, multi-day event planning. We approach projects by forming teams of skilled and experienced consultants to conduct the work, and by communicating closely with clients as the work progresses.
Information Insights has assembled a multi-disciplinary experienced team, each with relevant experience to handle multiple aspects of conference planning. The team led by Brenda Holden is also cross-trained, which assures adequate staffing levels for each task and can provide back up in case of emergencies or vacation schedules. Because we understand the forces at play in planning complex conference events, we can anticipate needs and establish a sound plan for addressing them that is well documented for future use. Formal evaluation results, informal comments and changing needs will also be incorporated into planning.
Recent conference coordination includes the Alaska Tobacco Summit in Bethel and Alaska Health Summit at the Sheraton Hotel in Anchorage. Brenda provided logistics and facilitation support for the Conference of Alaskans and Conference of Young Alaskans on the UAF Campus and Alaska 20/20 statewide visioning process at the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage. Other conference, health fair and community festival planning experience over the past 30 years is available upon request.
Information Insights conducted a series of four regional summits … which were very successful, due to their careful planning and use of Open Space meeting technology

Information Insights and the Cold Climate Housing Research Center are partnering to conduct a survey of Fairbanks residents on how they plan to cope with high energy costs this winter.
The survey will be conducted in two parts, an initial survey this fall to gather information about how residents are planning to handle the rising cost of energy, and a follow-up survey in the spring to find out how higher energy costs actually impacted residents.
We announced this survey at the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 during a Chamber Spotlight on Information Insights. During the presentation we used our Consensor audience response technology to ask attending chamber members questions similar to those on the survey and display the results instantly.

The Alaska Oil and Gas Association (AOGA) released a study today on the role of oil and gas in Alaska’s economy. Information Insights and the McDowell Group collaborated on the research, which used 2007 industry data to update a study the two firms published in 2001. The 2008 report expands on the earlier work quantifying the economic role of the oil and gas industry on specific regions within the state including the Municipality of Anchorage, FNSB, KPB, Mat-Su Borough, North Slope Borough, and the Valdez region, and examining direct, indirect and induced economic effects of the industry in these regions and communities. Brian Rogers presented the study findings at the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce’s Monday Forum. An overview of the results appears on the AOGA website. Download the full report (large file).
