			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Emma Funk started at Information Insights in May of 2010.  She is a  student at West Valley High School, as well as a part-time student  at UAF.  She enjoys photography, theater, creative writing and  kayaking. She has played many roles in various productions, including Romeo in <em>Romeo and Juliet</em> and Haemon in <em>Antigone</em>, both with the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theater. One  of her original essays appeared in<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Best-Teen-Writing-2009-Scholastic/dp/1449905676/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1275703795&amp;sr=8-1"><em> The Best Teen Writing of 2009</em></a>.</p>
<p>Emma works under Jana Peirce  to assist with web development projects,  and she performs administrative duties as needed. Emma has  also contributed photography and graphics work to Fairbanks Shakespeare  Theater, the Alaska Summer Research Academy and the UAF College of  Natural Science and Mathematics.</p>

She was part of the Information Insights’ facilitation team that conducted four regional FASD summits across the state, and she has also facilitated meetings for TCC management, the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority, and several non-profits. She is currently providing support to the Alaska Tobacco Control Alliance (ATCA) and the Alaska Public Health Association (ALPHA) annual statewide Health Summit. Jessica co-authored an in-depth literature review of poverty measurement trends for rural and indigenous populations and proposed recommendations of how these trends should be considered when developing poverty measurement tools in rural Alaska.</div>

Aldona’s knowledge of Alaska Native art is extensive. Until her recent retirement from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Aldona served as the Director of the University of Alaska Museum of the North and a Professor of Anthropology. She has 20 years experience working with Alaska Native artists, and is the author of numerous books and articles on Native American art. Through her tenure at Museum of the North, she also has extensive experience with media outreach, marketing and fundraising. Aldona holds a Ph.D. in art history and archeology.</div>

She is currently the project manager for the Alaska Scenic Byways Program ‘Integrated Communication Project.  She holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Shannon has a wealth of experience in communications planning, including creating public information campaigns and producing radio, print and television media materials. With extensive background in communications and message development, she has created outreach campaigns designed to reach both rural and urban Alaskans.</div>
<p>Until September 2007 Shannon was the spokesperson for the Northern Region of DOT&amp;PF. She served as the main point of contact for print, radio, and television journalists for design, maintenance, construction, and planning divisions. She served as media contact in emergencies, and coordinated enterprise stories, including developing communication plans, writing PSAs, press releases, articles, editorials and speeches.<span> </span>Shannon developed and implemented external communication plans to inform the public and stakeholder groups on transportation issues, projects, and emergencies. She previously served as a special assistant and media liaison for the Commissioner of the Department of Community and Economic Development (its name at that time).</p>

<p>When not at work, she enjoys gardening and quilting.</p>
