Information Insights worked with professionals in the Division of Family and Youth Services (now the Office of Children’s Services) as well as with foster parents to develop a comprehensive resource guide for foster parents in Alaska.
Information Insights provided market research and a first-run feasibility analysis of building a mid-size convention center in Fairbanks.
The economy and culture of Delta Junction were dominated for nearly 30 years by a large military presence at Ft. Greely and by the Delta Agriculture Project, which brought farming to the area in 1978. The 1990’s and early 2000’s brought major changes for the area in the form the Missile Defense Testbed, development of the Pogo gold mine, and an influx of religious refugees from the Ukraine. Such significant shifts in the population and economic activity left the Delta-Greely school district wondering just how many students they should prepare for. Information Insights projected changes in the student population for two years based on knowledge of the industries that were moving into the area, their respective workforces, and the culture of the newly arrived Ukrainian refugees. Information insights was able to help the school district avoid some common pitfalls, such as overbuilding, that often accompany major change.
Through an extensive literature review and subsequent information synthesis, data analysis and a large-scale statewide telephone survey, Information Insights, estimated the current housing stock and need for improvements/construction throughout the state. The study updates and expands on the 1991 Alaska Housing Needs Study by ASK Marketing and Research Group. The new study covers urban and rural Alaska, documenting the current state of housing, based on population as well as size and condition of home, and highlighting regional needs and conditions. The study was paid for by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation and the Association of Alaska Housing Authorities, and was managed by the Cold Climate Housing Research Center.
