Sherry Modrow

Sherry Modrow provides consulting, facilitation, and project management for education, public policy and public health projects. She has provided research and coordination as part of the core team for the North Slope Borough Organizational Study. Recent facilitations include a statewide inter-tribal funding summit, several meetings of Tanana Chiefs Conference and the DEC Food Safety Group.

Brian Rogers

Brian Rogers is an owner and co-founder of Information Insights. Brian resigned his position as Principal Consultant and CFO  at Information Insights on June 30, 2008 to become Chancellor of the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  Brian can be contacted at the Chancellor’s Office.

Ellen Ganley

Ellen’s background is in public policy research and analysis. Her recent projects focused on health workforce recruitment and retention, the Alaska Certificate of Need Program, and Alaska Native/American Indian behavioral health providers. She earned B.A.s in anthropology and urban affairs at the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Hawaii. She worked as a substance abuse counselor and administrator, a health planner for the State of Alaska, and was the founder and director of an organization that conducted quality assurance reviews of human service programs. Ellen is Vice-Chair of the Alaska Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and served as President of the Alaska Public Health Association.

Jana Peirce

Jana Peirce is a Senior Consultant with Information Insights. Jana manages many of Information Insights’ economic studies and assists with data collection, research and analysis, and report production on many other projects. With a degree in economics and a background in editing and graphic design, Jana specializes in information design and presentation. Her goal is that text and information graphics work together to present research results with clarity so they can be understood easily and used effectively.

Recent projects she has managed include a study of the economic impacts of Alaska Native organizations on Interior Alaska for Doyon, Limited; two studies assessing the impacts of bypass mail changes on the North Slope Borough; and an analysis of the economic impacts on Alaska of a rail link with Canada.

Chris Rogers

Chris Rogers has worked as a consultant at Information Insights since the spring of 2003. He conducts research and provides facilitation, public relations, and marketing support. Previously, he served as Information Insights’ network administrator.

Rogers received his B.A. from UAF in 2004, majoring in journalism with a focus in public relations, and a minor in Spanish.

He spends approximately half of the year in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where he works as a snowboarding instructor. He is also the editor of Snowboarder Guide Review Magazine.

Citings: Alaska-Canada Rail Link preliminary feasibility study

An article by Reuters Canada discusses the results of a preliminary feasibility study for an Alaska Canada rail link funded by the Yukon and Alaska governments. Information Insights provided the analysis of the socioeconomic impacts of the proposed rail link on the Alaska side of the border. Summer Intern: Dewey Hoffman

Dewey Hoffman has joined the Information Insights staff as an intern for the summer of 2007. Dewey was born into the Koyukon Athabascan communities of Ruby and Galena and was raised in Juneau, Nome, Barrow, and Anchorage. His family and passion for language inspire him to explore the world while learning how to create a stronger Alaska Native community. As a Senior at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. his academic interests are in International Development, Native American Studies and Portuguese. His professional interests include public policy research, youth leadership development, event coordination, and partnering among different groups to create positive change in Alaska.
